Reaching Locarno by Train:
- From Zurich Airport: Take a direct train from Zürich Flughafen (under the terminal) to Locarno. Travel time is approximately 3 hours.
- From Milan-Malpensa Airport: Take the regional train to Locarno (a change at Lugano may be required). Travel time is approximately 2h45–3h15.
- From Geneva Airport: Take a train to either Zurich or Milan, and transfer to a Locarno-bound train.
From Locarno Train Station to the venue:
Monte Verità is located on a hill above Ascona. Once you arrive at Locarno railway station, you have three options:
- Free Shuttle Bus: On the arrival day, a free 8-seater shuttle (a white bus with the Monte Verità logo) will be available for 4-5 hours. It departs from the end of platform 4 at the Locarno station. (Specific schedule to be announced).
- By Taxi (Recommended with luggage): Taxis take about 15 minutes to reach the venue and cost approximately 40 CHF. The company “EcoTaxsi” often offers slightly lower rates (reservation required: +41 91 792 21 01).
- By Public Transport & Walking: Take bus no. 1 from Locarno station to the “Ascona Centro” stop (15–20 minutes). From there, you can walk up “Strada Collina” to the venue. Please note: This is a 25–30 minute uphill walk and is not recommended if you are carrying heavy luggage.
Arriving by Car:
If driving from Zurich (via A2/A13), exit the highway at Locarno (Lago Maggiore exit) and head towards Ascona. Take the Ascona/Losone exit onto Viale Monte Verità. Just before the pedestrian area sign, turn right onto Strada Collina and follow the signs up the hill. There are approximately 50 parking spaces available at the venue.
